    Accessibility for Online Learning

    This session is created for anyone who designs, facilitates, or manages online learning programs. Learn about why and how accessibility, disability, and usability should be considered in online learning, types of assistive technologies learners may use, how to design with inclusion in mind, and how to evaluate your existing courses for accessibility. You’ll walk away with templates and resources to get started on course accessibility right away!

    By the end of this session, you will be able to:

    • Discuss challenges facing disabled students who participate in online learning.
    • Understand types of assistive technology used by disabled students.
    • Make adjustments while creating online learning materials to ensure they are accessible and usable.
    • Evaluate accessibility and usability of your online learning materials.

    Britne Jenke is an experienced Learning & Development Agile Project/Program Manager, with experience in Instructional Design and Development for multiple global industries.

    Britne is passionate about Inclusion & Diversity, Disability Advocacy, Accessibility, and Inclusive Design. She currently works as an Instructional Designer at Tesla and as a freelance Learning Project Manager, Instructional Designer, and Speaker through her company Inclusive Pixelation.

    Tips and Tricks for working with SMEs with Diane Elkins

    Welcome special guest Diane Elkins of Artisan E-Learning (https://artisanelearning.com/) and E-Learning Uncovered (http://elearninguncovered.com/) to the Las Vegas Learning Lab!

    Diane Elkins has been in the training and development field for 20 years as a trainer, instructional designer, and e-learning project manager. As co-owner of Artisan E-Learning, she helps companies get up and running with e-learning initiatives, specializing the use of rapid development tools including Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio, Lectora, and Captivate. She helps clients as diverse as government agencies, non-profits, medium-sized businesses and Fortune 500 corporations.

    She has gained national recognition as a trainer and e-learning expert, speaking at national conferences, such as ASTD ICE and TechKnowledge, eLearning Guild DevLearn and Learning Solutions, and the Lectora User's Conference. She has served as a judge for the Brandon Hall awards and has received awards from the eLearning Guild and Articulate. She is the co-author of the popular E-Learning Uncovered book series and is a regular contributor to the ATD Learning Technologies Blog.

    Inclusive & Emotionally Intelligent Leadership

    Emotional intelligence is one of the most fundamental strategic skills for effective leadership, and in our current environment, the ability to connect with others is more important than ever before. While self-awareness and the ability to manage oneself is a piece of that, understanding and influencing others is essential. Being successful requires a leadership mindset that embraces empathy and diversity. In this engaging 1-hour program we will discuss the four aspects of emotionally intelligent leadership with an emphasis on inclusivity.
