The Greater Las Vegas Chapter has been nominated for Chapter of the Month and recognized for hosting a virtual UnConference. The success of the UnConference was shared through the Sharing our Success program.
What makes the Greater Las Vegas Chapter unique and exceptional?
- We are a fairly small chapter (approximately 80 members) - but the members we have are very actively engaged.
- We have a diverse range of members (from vendors and small business owners to corporate talent development professionals and specialists).
Looking to the Future
- We realize that our chapter members are eager for take-aways, best practice sharing and the TD community of (human) resources. Educational events are great, but connecting with peers can be just as, if not more likely to drive member engagement. This is why chapter events such as our UnConference tend to be very successful.
We came to realize that having a bigger chapter wouldn't necessarily make us a better chapter. As a result, we decided to focus on actively engaging the members that we have. We plan to continue with this into 2022. Our goal is to have programming that is in touch with our members' needs and their reason for joining. In doing so, we believe we will continue to see the upward trend of meeting attendance that we experienced in 2021. We know that this engagement MAY lead to more members, but it isn't our main focus.
To help ensure that we are in touch with member needs, we are using our chapter member results from the Talent Development Capability Assessment as the basis for event topics for the year. We will continue to do so into the future.
