Jaime Sims-McBride, Leadership Coach | Consultant | Trainer

Founder, Human Aligned | President, ATD Greater Las Vegas

Jaime Sims-McBride is the founder of Human Aligned, a leadership coaching and consulting practice focused on helping women lead in ways that are effective, sustainable, and deeply human. She currently serves as President of ATD Greater Las Vegas, where she supports the development of talent professionals and strengthens the learning community across Southern Nevada.

With more than 15 years of experience in training and development, Jaime has built a training department from the ground up, designed leadership and professional development programs, and supported leaders at every level—from individual contributors stepping into leadership to executives navigating growth and change. Her work sits at the intersection of leadership development, communication, emotional intelligence, and wellbeing, helping organizations and individuals align performance with humanity.

As a leadership coach, consultant, and trainer for women, Jaime is known for her practical, relatable approach and her ability to create spaces where people can think clearly, lead confidently, and show up as themselves. Her Human Aligned philosophy centers on the belief that when leaders honor the human side of work—emotion, energy, connection, and context—better outcomes naturally follow.

Fun fact: Jaime once went from receptionist to Director of Training and Development at the same company—proof that growth is rarely linear and leadership can come from anywhere.

With over 15 years of experience in training and facilitation, I currently serve as a Learning & Development Partner at MGM Resorts International, where I oversee key components of enterprise-wide talent development initiatives. My responsibilities include program facilitation, quality assurance, and the administration of all corporate training programs.

Before transitioning into learning and development, I held operational roles across both for-profit and non-profit sectors, providing me with a well-rounded business perspective. In addition to my professional achievements, I am a proud inductee in both the Southern Nevada and Nevada State USBC Halls of Fame for Superior Performance, having competed for several years on the Professional Bowlers Tour alongside the sport’s top athletes.

Steve Hodgson, CPTD

Steve Hodgson has been a payroll professional since 1991. He earned the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation from the American Payroll Association in 2001. Originally a member of the association, he joined the APA staff in 2004. He is currently their Director of Learning & Development. In February 2017, he earned the ATD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) after attending the year-long CPLP online prep course with the ATD Learning System. This certification is now the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). With a B.S. in Music Education, he was originally a music teacher over 35 years ago. While changing careers over the years, training has been the continuous focus of his professional duties. Now, he’s involved with payroll compliance and regulations, not music theory!  He first joined the chapter for professional development, but has discovered serving on the board  provides additional growth opportunities beyond work responsibilities. He is honored  to share this chapter journey with you!

Steve served as Director of Finance 2019, VP Finance 2020-2021, President-Elect 2021-2022, President 2023-2024, and Acting President 2025.

Jeff Miller, CPTD

Trident eLearning Center

Jeff Miller is an experienced Instructional Designer with over 20 years in the public and private sectors. He is the owner of Trident eLearning Services, which provides pre-programmed, customizable eLearning content blocks and diverse, realistic avatars to help organizations create engaging, relatable training. Jeff has a strong preference for developing eLearning that reflects the audience’s real-world diversity and experiences, believing that learners are more engaged—and achieve better outcomes—when they see themselves in the training.

A former U.S. Navy Nuclear Marine Machinist, Jeff served as the supervisor aboard two submarines and managed the training program for 50 sailors and officers. He was also a Navy classroom instructor, teaching submariners in Quality Assurance (QA) and Damage Control. After his service, he earned a BS and MS in Education (Corporate & Technical Training) and achieved the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) credential.

Outside of Work
Jeff enjoys baking—often experimenting with new recipes—and shares life with his three pugs, who provide constant entertainment and companionship. He dreams of traveling to Australia and South Africa to explore their cultures, wildlife, and landscapes.

I have spent the last 15 years working in Learning and Development. I am currently working as a Learning and Development Specialist for Sunbit designing and delivering training that equips new employees with the skills to navigate systems, understand policies, and apply key financial concepts effectively. Earlier this year I obtained my CPTD certification. The process of preparing for my CPTD was invaluable, offering opportunities to build meaningful connections while sharpening and reinforcing essential learning and development practices.

I officially joined the ATD Greater Las Vegas chapter in July 2025 as the Director of Social Media. I am a learning and development leader with over a decade of experience driving engagement, communication, and innovation across organizations. Currently, I lead the Talent Development & Education team at Majesco, where I oversee the company’s learning ecosystem, including global communications, digital platforms, and award-winning virtual lab programs. Beyond work, I love traveling, capturing the beauty of the world through photography, and exploring national parks. At home, I’m a proud dog mom to a rescued chihuahua named Milka, who often joins my husband Matt and me on our adventures.

About Gary O'Connor, BCC, LCMHC, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

If managing people came with an instruction manual, HR wouldn't be nearly as interesting - and that's where I tend to help.

As the Managing Partner of My Part-Time HR Manager, LLC, I work alongside leaders and teams as a fractional HR partner, with a strong focus on leadership development, communication, and organizational effectiveness.

My background began in education and counseling, and I'm also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, which shapes how I approach learning, behavior, and growth at work. I'm especially interested in how people learn, adapt, and show up differently under pressure - and how leaders can create environments where people can do their best work every day.

I've worked across healthcare, education, hospitality, manufacturing, and professional services, supporting organizations of all sizes. I enjoy helping teams build capability, navigate change, and turn insight into action.

As a Board Certified Coach (BCC), SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Certified Predictive Index® Partner. I always enjoy connecting with fellow learning and talent professionals to share ideas and learn from one another.
